Semir Group was invited to attend The Retail Summit, Dubai

The Retail Summit is an annual global business event that is one of the most important networking platforms for the retail industry in the Middle East and North Africa region and an important platform for shaping the future of retail.

Held on the 3-14th March  2023 at the Atlantis Dubai, the Retail Summit brought together more than 15 top talents in the retail industry from around the world, including international brand companies, retail groups, commercial real estate and online platforms, with more than 700 forum activities for guests to learn, exchange and debate, through which elites from various industries shared their professional knowledge and insights, and discussed together the key issues affecting the future development of the retail industry.

Semir and Balabala appeared at the Retail Summit

At the Retail Summit, the products of Semir and Balabala brands were exhibited, these included products specially developed for the Middle East market, as well as products with Semir’s special technical fabric patents, which received much praise at the exhibition.

During the summit, the Semir booth also held news interviews with the official media of the Dubai Chambers and the Retail Summit. Nicole Zhou, Senior Director of the overseas business unit, Lucy Lu, overseas business development manager, introduced the Semir business and the thoughts of the Group to the media on behalf of the company.

Dubai Prince meets Retail Summit industry elites, visit the Semir and Balabala booths

His Royal Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Prince of Dubai, attended the summit and met with global retail industry elites.

Summit Organizer Gary Thatcher and others visited the Semir booth, where Nicole Zhou, senior director of overseas business unit, introduced to them the brand positioning and Middle East business of Semir and Balabala. The Group currently have more than 30 stores in core shopping malls across the region.

Nicole Zhou, senior director of the overseas business unit, as a guest interviewer at the summit, gave her thoughts on the subject of "Alone We Can Do So Little; Together We Can Do So Much", she introduced the development history of Semir, the key drivers and success stories of the partnership to the audience.

“Understanding the local market and consumers, having experience in successful international brand operations, flexibility to meet challenges, a strong willingness to achieve long-term common goals and development are key drivers when building overseas partnerships”.

Together with its Saudi market partners, Semir has doubled its business over the past three years. Entering the UAE and Qatar markets with its Qatari partners, Semir  established an open and frank communication method, resulting in the opening of flagship stores in key shopping centers, to quickly establish the brand in the markets.

She also shared the impact of the global pandemic on physical stores and online channels over the past three years, as well as the strategies and actions Semir has taken to respond to the crisis and support its partners to grow their businesses.

Through this two-day retail summit, Semir Group further expanded its brand voice and awareness in the international market, established connections and face-to-face communication with many potential customers, and further promoted the development of Semir and Balabala brands overseas.
